Concord Center will be filled with holiday music, festive storefronts, and warm community spirit—making Jingle and Mingle the perfect way to celebrate the season while supporting local businesses. The orchestra, conducted by Music Director Zeke Fetrow, performs a program of Zoltan Kodaly’s Dances of Galanta, Nino Rota’s Concerto for Bassoon, Johannes Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5, and Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring. Richard Svoboda joins the orchestra to perform Nino Rota’s Concerto for Bassoon  A pre-concert talk  is scheduled for 7:15pm on Saturday.

Come in from the cold to stroll The Umbrella’s three sunlit floors of open studios and galleries, featuring the exhibitions Off The Wall (small works of Umbrella Studio Artists) and Joy & Peace (abstract paintings by Christiane Corcelle and Jill Goldman-Callahan). Select a treat from Concessions, then savor the creativity on display at the Holiday Ceramics Sale, in Open Studios, and at Guest Artisans' tables brimming with pieces ready to become unique, unforgettable gifts for you and your loved ones. Attending the Market with little ones? Pre-register for or drop in to a family activity led by an Umbrella instructor.

Drop the Beat! Build Your First Track Have you ever wanted to create music like your favorite artists, but didn’t know where to start? This Beat Lab workshop is your chance to step into the producer’s chair and create your very own track from scratch! In this exciting, hands-on workshop, you will be guided by composer and CCM faculty member Manuel Garcia-Baro through the complete process of music production.

Come for a one-stop shopping experience featuring food and wares from local women-owned businesses. Meredith Goldstein, Love Letters columnist from The Boston Globe, will be speaking.

Join us as we welcome acclaimed architect Maryann Thompson, and Caroline Constant, Professor Emerita of Architecture at the University of Michigan for the launch of "Between Shadow and Light: The Work of Maryann Thompson". Thompson designed the Walden Visitor Center which was dedicated in 2017. It has won several awards for its wooden architecture, accessibility and sustainability. "Between Shadow and Light" probes Maryann Thompson’s commitment to an architecture that is sustainable and regionally driven and her penchant for heightening the experiential qualities of each project through a holistic, consensus-building approach to design.

Experience a one-of-a-kind installation of dozens of stunning story trees crafted by talented local volunteers and organizations, each featuring elaborate hand-made decorations inspired by a picture book. A centerpiece of the Museum’s community-focused programing, this popular annual event celebrates children’s books and a love of reading as families explore new story trees, sit and read together, or undertake a festive scavenger hunt. 

Discover the captivating arc of transformation in music with Concord Conservatory of Music’s own pianist and speaker, Jackson Carruthers, joined by guest violinist Sarah Whitney. Making this program extra special is an appearance by talented CCM students Henry Ziulkowski and Abigail Kirincich! Together, they will show how a single musical idea evolves and expands, much like our own personal paths from novice learning to expertise. 

Find your breath, your community, and discover the music within you through Native American Style Flute. Guest instructor John Gass from the Concord Conservatory of Music will present and demonstrate his flutes, and teach participants some basics of flute playing with a gentle, direct, and intuitive approach. He is passionate about helping others develop their own talents on the instrument and finding connection to nature, to the larger world, and to each other. No musical background is necessary.

The Umbrella's expanded Concert Series in partnership with Salt Lick Incubator showcases some of your future-favorite musical acts that have emerged through the Salt Lick program. Each concert spotlights the incredible talents of tomorrow's groundbreaking artists, creates support and lets you say you knew them back when! Featuring: Olivia Barton, Carter Benjamin, and Kieran Rhodes.
