Visit Nummeehquantamūmun as nia holley, Nipmuc, reintroduces corn in the Museum’s interior courtyard as a process to reawaken the mortar and return corn to this place. This mortar is one of many mortars held by the Concord Museum that have been used for a variety of purposes by Indigenous communities, including processing food, medicines, and pigments. Join the Nat'l Park Service for a special 250^th commemoration of the infamous Powder Alarm and patriot militia stealing four brass cannon from the British garrison in Boston on September 14/16, 1774. Enjoy a day of lectures, artillery firing demonstrations, and interactive ranger programs focused around cannons and the politics of 1774. Welcome fall with works by Patti Ganekwhose exuberant painting style redefines still lives. Guest artist Natasha Dikareva exhibits surreal sculptures that seem like conduits to another universe where meditative contemplation resides.
