The orchestra, directed by guest conductor Alyssa Wang, performs Andrea Tarrodi’s Camelopardalis,  Robert Schumann’s Cello Concerto, and Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suites. Aron Zelkowicz is soloist for the Schumann Cello Concerto.

Join the Concord Orchestra March 29 - 30 for their "American Heritage" performance - part of the Concord250 celebration. The program will include works by Leonard Bernstein, Jeff Beal, Mozart, Sousa, and more, conducted by Zeke Fetrow.

The Concord Orchestra presents “Dreaming With Your Feet” at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1 at 2:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at 51 Walden. The orchestra, conducted by Music Director Zeke Fetrow, performs a program of Michael Kurth’s Everything Lasts Forever, Arturo Marquez’s Danzon No. 2, and Ottorino Respighi’s Pines of Rome. 

The orchestra performs music by Michael Torke, Samuel Barber, and Margaret Bonds.  Michael Torke’s Javelin was commissioned by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for its 50th anniversary and performed at the opening ceremony of the Atlanta Summer Olympics in 1996.  Samuel Barber’s lyrical Symphony No. 1 combines the four movements of a classical symphony into a single movement.  Margaret Bond’s Montgomery Variations was composed in 1964 and dedicated to Martin Luther King Jr.  It portrays the early history of the Civil Rights Movement, in particular the Montgomery Bus Boycott and its aftermath.

The orchestra, conducted by Music Director Zeke Fetrow, performs a program of Zoltan Kodaly’s Dances of Galanta, Nino Rota’s Concerto for Bassoon, Johannes Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5, and Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring. Richard Svoboda joins the orchestra to perform Nino Rota’s Concerto for Bassoon  A pre-concert talk  is scheduled for 7:15pm on Saturday.

The Concord Orchestra presents “Far, Far, Away” at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, and Sunday, Feb 1 at 2:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at 51 Walden. 

The orchestra, conducted by Music Director Zeke Fetrow, performs a program of W. A. Mozart’s Overture to Don Giovanni, Alexander Borodin’s In the Steppes of Central Asia, and John Williams’ Star Wars Suite.  The winner of the young artist competition, Maggie Bai, joins the orchestra to perform Felix Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor.

Preceding each concert, one of the young artist competition runners-up, both cellists, will present a pre-concert recital.  On Saturday, Gabriel Jojatu performs a recital at 7:15 p.m.  On Sunday, Philip Jeong performs a recital at 1:45 p.m.

The Concord Orchestra presents “Vignettes.”  The orchestra, conducted by Music Director Zeke Fetrow, performs a program of Gustav Holst’s A Somerset Rhapsody, Dmitri Shostakovich’s Suite for Variety Orchestra, Georg Philipp Telemann’s Trumpet Concerto in D Major, and Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.  A pre-concert talk is scheduled for 7:15 pm on Saturday. Tickets for adults and seniors are $25. Admission for youth under 18 is free.
