Award-winning Firelight Theatre Workshop presents "We Were Friends: To Bed/Eggs," an episodic project of Firelight’s playful reimagining of Margaret Fuller and Ralph Waldo Emerson’s profound friendship set in today’s world. A late-night phone conversation between Ralph and Margaret takes the form of a radio play in which music, film, voice, and the hypnotic hum of a sleep apnea machine lead the two friends into territory both more intimate and less certain than any they’ve experienced in each other’s presence. This episode will be followed by a talkback with Firelight’s actors and writers. $15 Members | $25 Non-Members

About the film: Filmed in the Nordic regions primarily within the Arctic Circle, this poetic and meditative journey explores the complexities of ancestry in relation to Earth-based belonging, interspecies spiritual connection, and healing through subtle actions, original symbols, and metaphors.

Join us at The Walden Woods Project, as part of The Concord Festival of Authors, for a presentation from Matt Patterson! About Matt Patterson.

About the presentation: At a young age, Matt was fascinated with nature and art, and he has traveled all over to research his subjects. An important part of his illustration process is seeing and learning about his subjects in the wild. In his presentation, he will discuss his experiences working in the field, conservation, his art, and researching the three most recent books he worked on with the award-winning author Sy Montgomery.
