Event Description

Join us for a viewing of Faith Johnson’s North is a Circle and a guided meditation in Walden Woods! About the film: Filmed in the Nordic regions primarily within the Arctic Circle, this poetic and meditative journey explores the complexities of ancestry in relation to Earth-based belonging, interspecies spiritual connection, and healing through subtle actions, original symbols, and metaphors. The work is paired with a symbol guide and a nature meditation facilitating connection to the sentience of the natural world. About the artist: Faith Johnson is a Boston, U.S.- based, internationally exhibited and award-winning interdisciplinary artist with an MFA from Tufts University, where she received the Rose Hill Performance Award. She has shown her work internationally at the International Ecoperformance Festival in Brazil, Center for Contemporary Culture in Spain, Open Festival in China, Navinki Festival in Belarus, and Tactile Bosch Gallery in Wales. Faith has been a visiting artist lecturer at Lesley, Northeastern, Oklahoma, Northern Iowa, and Harvard Universities. She has completed residencies at the Homestead Artist Residency in Willow, Alaska, the Newton School of Theology, and Arteles Creative Center in Finland. Faith also facilitates wellbeing through her healing arts practice Full Circle Healing Arts.
