The Concord Orchestra presents "Folk Roots"
The orchestra, conducted by Music Director Zeke Fetrow, performs a program of Zoltan Kodaly’s Dances of Galanta, Nino Rota’s Concerto for Bassoon, Johannes Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5, and Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring. Richard Svoboda joins the orchestra to perform Nino Rota’s Concerto for Bassoon A pre-concert talk is scheduled for 7:15pm on Saturday.

"Between Shadow and Light: The Work of Maryann Thompson" - A Book by Caroline Constant
Join us as we welcome acclaimed architect Maryann Thompson, and Caroline Constant, Professor Emerita of Architecture at the University of Michigan for the launch of "Between Shadow and Light: The Work of Maryann Thompson". Thompson designed the Walden Visitor Center which was dedicated in 2017. It has won several awards for its wooden architecture, accessibility and sustainability. "Between Shadow and Light" probes Maryann Thompson’s commitment to an architecture that is sustainable and regionally driven and her penchant for heightening the experiential qualities of each project through a holistic, consensus-building approach to design.

Native American Style Flute for Adults at Fowler
Find your breath, your community, and discover the music within you through Native American Style Flute. Guest instructor John Gass from the Concord Conservatory of Music will present and demonstrate his flutes, and teach participants some basics of flute playing with a gentle, direct, and intuitive approach. He is passionate about helping others develop their own talents on the instrument and finding connection to nature, to the larger world, and to each other. No musical background is necessary.
