Event Description

Motherhood as Muse examines maternal identity as a source of artistic creation, with artists pulling from their own lived realities to explore the tensions of the maternal experience. Curators Kathryn Geismar and Deborah Peeples aim to redefine “the concept of the muse through the gaze of motherhood,” exploring motherhood as a transformative experience that is both deeply personal and universal. The exhibition includes painting, sculpture, photography, and multi-media installation, all engaging with the multifaceted state of becoming that is motherhood.

Curators' Tour: Thursday, October 23, at 5:00 pm.  Join curators Kathryn Geismar and Deborah Peeples who will share their insights about the exhibition, Motherhood As Muse,

Loveday Lockets Highlight a Treasured Tradition

From November 8 through the holidays, Loveday Boutique will showcase hand crafted contemporary lockets from 14 artisans, alongside a selection of vintage finds. These modern heirlooms are created with a range of materials, including precious metals, diamonds and gemstones, walnut wood, and Formica veneer.  “Lockets can open a conversation and create meaningful connections,” said Kirsten Ball, owner of Loveday Boutique. “I often wear my grandmother’s locket, which holds a photograph of her inside it. When I’m wearing it, I feel her comforting presence.”
